Teenage pop star Hilary Duff has celebrated her 18th birthday by recording an anti-obesity radio ad for the Looking Good California campaign. The singer/actress turned 18 yesterday (28SEP05), the same day as her new spot started airing. In the short ad, Duff urges fans to "stay fit and eat right"because "what goes inside is eventually going to show on the outside."

Lets all wish Hilary a happy 18th brithday!! Even though you guys think that she is getting to skinny, shes not shes just eating healthy. Thanks to Just Jared, they put it in the best words, "Perhaps this explains Hilary Duff's incredibly shrinking body: She's participating in an anti-obesity campaign to encourage kids to eat right and exercise via a PSA that will hit the airwaves in California this week.
"Even though I spend an hour in the makeup chair before each show, that alone isn't going to make me look good," the singer says in the upbeat radio message. "All the makeup in the world can't make up for poor nutrition. ... I have to stay fit and eat right because, hello! What goes inside is going to eventually show on the outside."
Duff, who recorded two versions nine months ago, also espouses in the PSA the virtues of healthy snacks such as fruits or vegetables, "because they love me as much as I love them," as well as eating well-balanced meals. She tells listeners they'll be able to find what they're looking for in the nutritionist-planned meals available at public school cafeterias, which is "like having your own private chef watching your diet." "

Pop couple Hilary Duff and Joel Madden were among the stars playing poker for charity last night (09SEP05). The winner of the celebrity gamble in Hollywood won $100,000 (GBP55,500) to donate to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

Hilary Duff has pledged to donate $250,000 to help Hurricane Katrina victims on the Gulf Coast.
The 17-year-old singer-actress will give $200,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to USA Harvest, which is supplying food to shelters, according to a statement released Thursday by publicist Cece Yorke. The latter donation will amount to more than 300,000 cans of food being provided to victims.
Duff encouraged fans to bring canned food donations to her concerts and to give money to charities.

Sources on the web have it that Lindsay called Hilary to settle their 'fued' because the whole Aaron Carter 'Scandal' was along time ago. but Hilary's older sister Haylie denyed the phone call by hanging up on Lindsay. Maybe it was payback for Lindsay after all the times Hilary tried to settle with her.

Hilary Duff has debuted at number one in the USA this week with her best of album 'Most Wanted'.
This is her first album to debut at number one and second number one album.
"Wow, it's so surreal to have a #1 debut and I feel honored to be on top of the Billboard charts with all this great competition" Hilary says. "I want to thank all my fans and the people who worked so hard on this record."
Her manager Andre Recke added "It feels great when all the hard work and effort pays off with a #1 debut. Hilary is a hard worker and she deserves being #1."

Teen queen Hilary Duff's latest release, the best-of compilation Most Wanted, took the # 1 spot this week, selling 208,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD combines remixes of Duff's previous hits alongside three new tracks, including the single "Wake Up," written by Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden. This is a higher debut than her self-titled sophomore album, which, although it moved 192,000 copies in its first week last September, peaked at Number Two.
